LEN Ratifies Russian Breaststroke Efforts

Jul 26, 2009  - Craig Lord

LEN has ratified as European records the times set by Russian breatstrokers Valentina Artemyeva, in the 50m, and Yulia Efimova, in the 100m.

In the 50m Efimova's 30.05 effort in an pre-approval X-Glide was discounted by FINA as a world record, and the same reason not to ratify was applied to Artemyeva's 30.17. But at the same meet, the Russian nationals in April, Artemyeva clocked 30.32 in an arena R-Evolution. That will now stand as the European record.

In the 100m in April, Efimova clocked 1:05.80 in a R-Evolution and that time will now stand at the European record.
