Lambertz Confirmed As German Head Coach

Henning Lambertz, of Essen, is Germany's new head coach. In Istanbul at the world s/c championships as interim head coach, he will take up his role officially on January 1. 

"With Henning Lambertz we have found a chief national coach, who is the team working in the foreground. It focuses on the integration of all forces," said the president of the German swim federation (DSV), Christa Thiel.

"With Henning Lambertz, we have found an experienced international coach, who at several Olympic Games was with his athletes there. During the last four years I have learned to appreciate him as a competent and loyal supporters of the German swimming sport," added Lutz Buschkow, Director of Competitive Sports in DSV.

Lambertz, 42, is the former mentor of the likes of Thomas Rupprath and Sarah Poewe (both in Wuppertal) and in Essen coaches Caroline Ruhnau, Lisa Vitting, Dorothea Brandt, Hendrik Feldwehr and Christian vom Lehn.
